Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

By using extractthumb.com ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

What the Service does

ExtractThumb helps you locate and download thumbnail images that YouTube serves publicly for a given video. It is a convenience utility built on top of YouTube's public image URLs. We are an independent project and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly. In particular:

  • Thumbnails are the copyrighted property of their creators. You are responsible for how you use any image you download.
  • Appropriate uses include previewing your own thumbnails, education, commentary, criticism, and competitive research.
  • You must not republish, redistribute, or commercially exploit someone else's thumbnail as if it were your own, or in any way that infringes their rights.
  • You must not use the Service to violate YouTube's or Google's terms, or any applicable law.

No warranty

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that every thumbnail or resolution will be available, that the Service will be uninterrupted, or that it will be error-free. Thumbnail availability depends entirely on YouTube.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ExtractThumb and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, or from your use of any downloaded image.

Intellectual property

The ExtractThumb name, site design, and original written guides are our property. The thumbnails you download are not — they belong to their respective creators. Nothing here transfers any rights in those images to you.

Changes to the Service and terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these terms; continued use after changes means you accept them. The "last updated" date reflects the current version.
